How do I connect Brushfire to my payment gateway?

Brushfire works with several different payment gateways to provide our customers with maximum flexibility and compatibility with existing solutions.  If you do not already have a gateway (or you're not quite sure what a gateway is) then you should probably check out this article.

However, if you already have an existing account with a Brushfire-compatible gateway, then you'll just need to provide a little information to Brushfire so we can connect to your account.

Brushfire currently works with the following payment gateways:

We've selected these payment gateways because they all offer a certain set of functionality that provides a consistent user experience throughout Brushfire. For example, all of these payment gateways offer the ability to refund/credit transactions without us having to store sensitive payment information. Brushfire never stores sensitive payment information. We only store the name and last 4 digits of the card or account number to help you look up the transaction if you need to.

In general, there will be 2-3 pieces of information that Brushfire will need from your gateway that we store in our system so when a customer clicks "Place Order," Brushfire knows where to send the payment information. These values uniquely identify your account.

Each gateway requires something slightly different. For a step-by-step example of where to provide this information in Brushfire, check out the video below.

  2. Click "Account" in the main toolbar.
  3. Click "Settings" in the main left side menu.
  4. Click on "API Login ID and Transaction Key" in the "Security Settings" section.

NOTE: If other vendors are also connecting to this account and you need to generate a new key, please be careful not to disable any old keys without updating those vendors with the new key information.

  5. Click on "Manage Public Client Key" in the "Security Settings section.

NOTE: There is only ever one active Public Client Key so you should use the existing one instead of creating a new one unless you know that the existing one is compromised.

We also recommend you use the following AVS (Address Verification Service) settings to prevent multiple authorizations on the customer's card in the event of an incorrectly entered address:

  1. Ensure all "General AVS Responses" settings are allowed.
  2. Ensure all "Address and Zip Code Responses" settings are allowed.
